The final 30 mark III ordered from Rootes, NA281 to NA310, were officially completed as A.III that is as glider tugs and/or paratrooper transports. ![]() Removing these five results in agreement with the MAP total. It is understood this was done with a total of five aircraft, LK870, LK872, LK881, LK882 and NA507 which have blank contract card and delivery log entries. R9535 to R9540 were used as pattern aircraft, they were not built.Ī memo dated 4 April 1944 indicates two mark III delivered on 19 February and one delivered in March 1944 meant to be built by Fairey were actually delivered as sets of components to Handley Page and so never actually built. There are a number of web sites with the serial number lists plus Robertson's British Military Aircraft Serials. ![]()
